Dodgers vs. Rockies

This game I missed the first few batters of the game because I was on field holding the big flag that was on the field for the National Anthem. Unfortunately I could not find photos of it. So because of that I missed the first few batters. The first batter I saw was the second Dodgers batter of the game Yasiel Puig who hit a home run with Dee Gordon on first base.

Then Hanley Ramirez hit a double.

Jair Jurrens started for the Rockies. He was recently picked up from the Reds organization he was once with the Braves and has not pitched in the bigs this year.

With Ramirez on second Andre Either hit a triple to score the Dodgers 3rd run of the game (inning). After the 3 runs in the first he settled down a little and had a 1,2,3 second inning.

Clayton Kershaw started for the dodgers and well treated the Rockies like his bitch! The Rockies did not get a hit till the 3rd inning and that was a single by D.J. LeMahieu in the 3rd. The Rockies did do better against him then the last game the faced him, they got 2 hits instead of being no hit. He hasn’t just been abusing the Rockies in his last 4 starts, he has been knocking everyone around. He has not given up a run in 30+ innings I think it was 35 innings.

Hanley Ramirez was hit by a pitch from Jurrens in the 5th inning which was a horrible inning for Jurrens and the Rockies. The Dodgers scored 5 runs on 6 hits, Jurrens walked 1 in the inning and was pretty much hung out to dry. Most of the runs did come with 2 outs. Jurrens was taken out after Kershaw single to give the Dodgers a 8-0 lead.

Chad Bettis came into finish the inning and after giving up a hit got the third out to end the inning. The Dodgers sent 11 batters to the plate in the inning. Ramirez was removed after the inning.

I could have just posted this photo from the 6th inning and tell most of the story of the game just look at the line score on the big screen while Kershaw pitches!

IMG_9102

After 8 inning pitched by Kershaw, Don Mattingly replaced him with Jamie Wright. After Walking Blackmon he struck out Josh Rutledge and then Arenado hit into a double play to stop the misery! I mean end the game. Now if it was not a fireworks night I think this is a game I may have left early. It is just painful to watch this team play.

Then it was time to watch what everyone was really there to see and that was the fireworks!

IMG_9118Crowd gathered on the field for the fireworks. They put the fans that sit in the Rockpile and Pavilions on the field for the fireworks.

Now the Rockies won the Saturday July 5th game that I did not attend because I had to go to work. It actually worked out well because I did noy have a ticket for the game which is extremely rare for me. But since I was not sure when my road trip was I did not buy tix for some July games.

So about my road trip I will be leaving Denver on July 12th and once again heading east this year the first game I am attending is the Triple A all-Star game in Durham, N.C. before hitting up some of my North Carolina favorites Greensboro Grasshoppers and may even get the last stadium I have not been too in N.C. that is the Carolina Mudcats stadium. I will also be checking out the New Charlotte Nights Stadium That I have been following the process of being built. I was there 2 years ago when they broke ground and put in home plate and saw the stadium being built last year. After North Carolina I will be heading to Cleveland where I will be checking out Progressive Field and then Heading to a Lake City Captains game before heading to Detroit to see the Rockies for 2 games there. I will then head to Indy to catch my yearly game in Indianapolis and am also thinking of checking out Ft. Wayne Tincaps game and possibly the Dayton Dragons as well. So it should be a adventure once again and getting to see a bunch of new stadiums for me and also visit many of my favorites. I will hve a better schedule of when and where I will be later in this home stand.

Well till then see you at Coors I should be there all week till I leave for my trip.
