What’s with this Stadium? Rain, Rain go away! Day 5 2012 Spring Training.
Texas Rangers Vs. Milwaukee Brewers
Maryvale Sports Complex, Maryvale, Az
After a horrendous night at camp Blogosphere, somehow we were ready for some baseball. We had 50 mile an hour winds, rain, and very cold temp especially when everything to keep warm is now wet. Everything inside our tents got soaked. But we got up and Headed to Maryvalle Sports Complex Maryvale is the Spring training home of the Milwaukee Brewers “D” and I have both been there before. I went last year and the Game was rained out , So I had not seen a game there before. We got there a little before the gates opened, Nothing was going on the Minor League fields so we got our tix and waited for the gates to open. After Getting inside we headed out to the berm.
Here is a look from left field.
After getting settled at a table they had out by the berm I took a quick walk around the stadium. Than decided to stay by the Rangers side on the third baseline I figured they are a team I will not see at Coors this year and the Brewers will be there at least once if I wanted any autographs.
Here is the Patch that the Rangers will have on their uniforms celebrating their 40th anniversary since moving from Washington in 1972.
Rangers Player signing for fans. Can’t remember who he was, but do know I did not have a card or anything for him to sign.
Rangers Starting pitcher Robert Ross warming up in the bullpen. He is a non-Roster invitee.
The bnw to show off the mad photo skillz!
After warm up Brab Hawpe was the only Ranger still out there running.
Brewers Starting pitch simply known as # 70 throwing the first pitch to Ian Kinsler.
Ian Kinsler lead off the inning with a double and it was followed up by a David Murphey 2 run HR. The Brewers sent 6 batters to the plate in the inning. The Brewers would than Score a run also in the first after a Nyjer Morgan double he scored on Aramis Ramirez single.
The Rangers did tie the game @ 2 in the 2nd.
Craig Gentry going for a catch in center-field
Gindel making the for the 2nd out of the inning.
Brad Hawpe Running the bases after his 3rd. inning HR.
Nyjer Morgan heading to third after Ramirez hit a double in the 3rd inning.
The Rangers had a very bad inning in the field and the Brewers took full advantage of it scoring 4. The Rangers did score 2 in their half of the inning. Taking a four to 2 lead.
Pitching change for the Rangers.
Morgan Scores The first Brewers run in the 3rd inning. Ramirez than ran to 2nd.
Ramirez and Mat Gamel scored on this hit by Caleb Gindi triple.
Gentry did not get to this one the way he got the one in the 1st.
Heres the throw to the plate.
A look at the field in the 3rd inning.
Yangervis Solarte getting thrown out at first in the 4th inning.
Now this is the second time I was at Maryvale, last year the game was cancelled because of rain. This year I got 4 innings in. I will one day see a full game there!!!
The grounds crew rolling out the tarp as the player heading off the field.
Covering the pitches mound before the large tarp covers the infield.
The Game was than called off and since it did not get to the 5th. this game never took place so I actually have never seen a game in Maryvale. even know I saw 4 innings.
So it was another rainy day in the desert.
We than headed over to The Talking Stick Resort. Where we stayed the last 2 nights. We will head back to camp Blogsphere for a night before we head to the hotel we book for a night before we got here.
The next day we took a day off from games. But I did go to Salt River fields for Batting practice. I got to Baseballs on the D’backs side. Than headed to their infield practice field and watched some infield practice. Than headed to see if the Rockies were doing BP on their side they did do a short BP on the back field. They also did a in Stadium BP.
Here is a view from our Room in Talking Stick Resort.
